I feel a bit like the proverbial little bee today, I've been so productive that I actually feel energised by it! I rather hope it lasts.
To be honest I don't expect it to but that's because it has never happened before, normally I go into something with all guns blazing and shortly realise I've run out of ammunition which leaves me deflated and quietly slinking back out of the door, today feels different though, perhaps I've upgraded or perhaps I just found the key to better productivity.
Whichever it is we will discover tomorrow when I try to do it all again.
So today I put my music on whilst working and I'm trying to decide if it is increasing my effectiveness or if it is distracting me, I'm certainly singing along with most of them (Simple Minds at the moment) but I'm still working and have almost completed my to do list for this morning, so I guess that means it works.
This therefore begs the question, 'why do most companies not allow music in the office? I reckon if the boutique grew big enough for me to employ lots of staff in an office environment, I would have music playing and would actively encourage singing along (and even dancing to the printer or copier).
How many people would want to work for me?
How many people would never want to leave work?
Just need to get this Company to GROW! (Listening to Live & Let Die now, it's a bit dramatic!)
Can you believe how quickly we are getting through this month? It's really quite mad!
Anyway, I have been working on a new project for the Boutique but it is not quite ready to share or announce in detail but I will say this...
It is a new line that will utilise all our current designs.
I would love to know what you think the new line is so please leave your suggestions in the comments!
I have always struggled with this one particular word,
Why are some people considered creative and others not?
What is creative?
Well the dictionary definition is
relating to or involving the use of the imagination or original ideas to create something.
"change unleashes people's creative energy"
a person whose job involves creative work.
"the most important people in the mix will be creatives and direct marketing specialists"
So how does a person become labelled as a creative?
By getting a job that labels them as such, I never could, despite years of creativity I was never seen as a creative, then again I was never seen as a leader either so it just shows that many people in the top jobs of power haven't got a clue what is sitting in front of them asking for a job.
Take a look at the person sitting next to you in the office/canteen/staff room/wherever and ask yourself, "Are they a creative?" Do they create something in their free time?
Then ask yourself "Am I a creative?" Do you create something in your free time?
I'll bet they are and I'll bet you are too.
Creatives are everywhere, they are everyone, don't let anyone tell you different.
